I need to patch a couple of places on my upper cowling on my 1963 172D. Does anyone know the type and thickness of the aluminum that's used on that cowling?? I'll need to order a few pieces of it to make the patches. Tnx,

If you look at figure 193 Item 3 is the white light lens holding screws. There is one on each side of the lens. They hold back end up. The AMM probably will not show you anything! I'll see if I have PDF somewhere

Over all I have owned 37 aircraft in my many years of flying. The current roster includes the 1957 and 1965 172, 1982 - 182, 1979 Beech Sierra, 1953 Aeronca Sedan, 1946 Aeronca 7CCM and an ASK-21 Glider.
