Welcome to the Club Terry and good luck buying that 60 model! We love pictures here on the forum - maybe start a new topic thread and show us your '58 and soon-to-be '60?

After many years I've finally joined the membership of airplane owners. Just bought a 78 model 172N. I wish I would have started earlier in life.

Welcome aboard! Doesn't matter when you start, as long as you start.

Ours is a '77 172N (14v versus 28v in yours). Got any pix?

Congrats Gary... I am a seasoned owner now... I have had mine for 24 days... wink
Flying for others and flying rentals up until now. It is a different feeling on post flight.

Are you going to post pics of yours?

Welcome to the Club Andrew! I grew up in Panama by the way. How'd you get the gig in Ecuador and what do you think of the place?

Hi Terry,
I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to respond. I lived in Mt. Vernon for 8 years and I was on the Knox County Airport authority until I was transferred to the West Coast.

Welcome to the Club Sergiu! I do believe you are our first member from Romania. Hopefully through you we can learn more about general aviation and C172 ownership in Romania - would be very interesting. Hopefully you'll visit often and enlighten us on things in your part of the world!

Hello All,

Have been a Cessna 172 owner for 19 days. Have been a private pilot for 23 days. My grandfather owned 19 airplanes in his lifelife. I promised him when I was 16 that I would become a pilot and now I am, so many years later. It is the most exciting personal accomplishment in my life. I look forward to sharing problems, questions, and issues with all of you.

Welcome, Walker, and congratulations on your achievements! I've been a private pilot for 20 days now so I know EXACTLY how you feel smile I don't have my own 172 yet but am working on that as well.

Post a picture of your plane when you get a chance... we'd love to see it. Welcome to the club!

Welcome aboard, Walker. Airplane ownership and PPL in the same week - that's got to be pretty exciting for you! Do post info on your bird when you're able - we all like to compare notes. smile Congratulations on your accomplishments (my PPL checkride was 43 years ago, but you never forget the day).

We're on our third 172 (we do seem to like them) after starting with a C-150 in 1970. "Traveler" is our long distance family car. How do you plan to use yours?

John

Another new (?) guy for the group. Been flying since '56, working on them since '57. I'm an A&P/IA/DME, retired from Delta, FedEx, but not from GA.
My wife bought my '65 T41A for my fiftieth birthday, nineteen years ago. It's in the markings of the unit is was active with, the 3575 PTW, Vance AFB. We also have a '66 150, which I plan to/need to restore, and a completely original, unmodified '60 Piper Apache 160.
I've been the luckiest SOB to ever strap on an airplane. Airline mech pay allowed me to do what I wanted to in GA. I've been Contributing Editor to the old Private Pilot Magazine, worked with great people like Dip Davis, formerly of Wm. Ross Enterprises (warbird restorer), Buck Hilbert from EAA, and knew or met many of the people most only get to read about. Mech for three years on the Lisa Marie.
When I die I can die happy.

Impressive Ed. Welcome. I like the T-41 (C172F) so much I bought the 1966 C172G from my old Army buddy.

Thank you, Night Owl. It has been a very exciting month, to say the least. I have already flown it home from Indiana to SC with a little help from my friend, Bob-O (my flying mentor, after my grandfather). Since then, I have been to Hilton Head and Charleston. Plan to go to Charlotte for Thanksgiving to see my brother who is also a pilot.
