Hi, this is my first time on this site; I own a 172N for four years now, and starting to do some panel upgrades.

Welcome Jack! Beware of the three most dangerous words while doing that panel upgrade... "might as well". They have destroyed many an aircraft owner's bank account!

Hello everyone! I'm Zack and i'm not an owner... yet. I am a 28 year old Indianapolis Fire Fighter and I have been a pilot for 10 years now (started in high school). I have trained in Cessna 172's pretty much the entire time that I have been working on my flight training (includes private, insturment, and commercial). I have flown a few Piper Arrow's and a couple of Aeronca Champs.

I recently found the first airplane that I ever flew in (A 1968 Cessna 172K) and have made contact with the owner. I took my first flight ever in that plane 20 years ago, and those memories were a major part of why I became a pilot. Thinking about possibly purchasing the plane but still unsure.

Welcome Steve - I must say that I personally know of three paraplegics that fly their own aircraft, albeit these are of the experimental variety. One is a Breezy, the other is a Challenger and the third is some type of an early two place ultralight. All three have the hand controls only, set up so the can work the rudders with one hand and the control stick with the other. IIRC, all three use their rudder hand to operate all the other controls such as throttle, mixture, radio, etc.

I guess my point being is I am amazed at the tenacity of some people!

Welcome and feel free to participate or simply sit back and relax!

Have flown 172s since I got my PPL in 1968, and my instrument ticket in 1976. I flew 172s for the instrument instruction, and a Piper Cherokee 180 for the checkride.

I've never owned an airplane, have always rented mostly from flying clubs. Started with Cal Aggie Flying Farmers (still in operation at KEDU), then Fremont Flyers (KHWD), and now the Alameda Aero Club (KOAK). Have flown a variety of single-engine planes; my favorites are, not in order, Cessna 172, Cessna 150, and Bonanza K35.

Happy to be a member of this forum. Perhaps I'll be encouraged to resume flying (grounded for ca. 2 years because of ill health of girl friend).

Hi Steve and welcome to the club! When I started my lessons at Torrance Airport in 1983, there was a guy who owned an Ercoupe who was also using a wheel chair. He could pre-flight the airplane, get himself in it and take himself flying. He flew often!

Most Ercoupes left the factory as two control ( Ercoupe aficionados refer to them as "coordinated control" ) airplanes. An Ercoupe might just be your ticket back into the sky!

Hi all!

My name is Bartek. I come from Poland and just one month ago I've become new owner of Cessna 172P. Flown it with a friend from her old home (Budel, Netherlands) to the new one: Warsaw, Poland.

Just after annual and ARC renewal and everything just fine.

Already on a few longer trips and this weekend planning to fly into Polish mountains. Yuppi!

Love this machine! smile

Cheers!

It is getting better and better. From what I can see that most of the post on the internet are posted by people from US, but we are chasing. As far as I remember currently there are aprox 2500 aircrafts registered in scope of GA in Poland. So when you compare it to 38 million citizens - it is not spectacular.

One more surprise: most of the aircraft flying in Poland is Cessnas smile Even though some of them are really old ones, they are still doing their jobs in ATOs smile
