Very nice! It probably has that "new car smell" too, I bet...

Thanks for sharing the photos of the transformation.

It's more of a new airplane interior smell.

I should credit the paint scheme design to the nice folks at Yingling Aviation. I saw their Ascend 172 on display at Sun N Fun this year and fell in love with it. I just knew that was the scheme I wanted on my airplane. I contacted them the week after the fly-in, asked for and received permission to use it. There are some small differences but it is very close to their layout.

There is an interesting story behind the layout that Yingling shared with me. The scheme was originally designed by a gentleman who worked for Cessna in their design department. It was probably too complex a scheme for the manufacturer to adopt but it sure is pretty looking to me.

Shifty will get his airplane back from Annual after September 1st. Then we just need to get this weather cycle behind us and we'll schedule a meet-up at Williston. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys and seeing your airplanes too!

Wow... Beautiful paint and interior. Great storyboard with the pictures, do I read the dates correctly that it only took 6 weeks?

Yes and no. Six weeks initially, followed by two more weeks correcting some deficiencies, for a total of eight weeks.
