I never considered myself more attracted to any one hair color, but a few years ago I did my best to count the girls I'd dated over the years and discovered a very high and disproportionate number to be redheads. Woo hoo! smile

And as far as 172's go, I own a 2/3 scale model, better known as a 1976 150M. That would definitely be a late model 150. Not sure where it would rank it as a 172.

That's an interesting question. The Cessna 150 variants were built between 1958 and 1977. So your 1976 bird is definitely a late model.

The Cessna 172 was built between 1955 and 1985 and then 1997 to the present. So the answer can change with time. I would say that the 1997-current planes are the late model. Early model is trickier - I could say that the early models are those with the Continental O300 engine, that is planes built before 1968.

By that definition a 1976 Cessna 172 is not a late or early model. But it is a desirable aircraft - that was the last year with the O320-E2D engine and the first year with the change in the console layout.

Knowing what you are talking about is highly overrated.

Besides, the question is really "is it fun to fly?". The rest doesn't matter much.
