Bought 2 Hover-1 Rally Scooters to carry with us to expand restaurant choices.
$229 x 2 + Tax = $470 at Best Buy.
Could have bought others for $200 each, but these were avail for pickup that day (Fri 8-9-19). They worked good that Sat 8-10-19, but this could go either way. (25% to 49% gave bad reviews) At least I was able to see that the boxes looked good upon pickup. Great on smooth surface, but feel every crack.
3 speeds - 9mph on #2, 15mph on #3. Range is 5-6 miles.
Glad my anti-sunburn hat had the string around my neck when it blew off.
Yes, they were fun. Flew to Rochester KRCR from Elkhart KEKM to try them out. Went to Subway. How do I load the pics....?

Nice to hear a happy experience with your plane. Glad you had fun. Keep us posted how the scooters workout for you in the long run. Some of us may want one and would be very handy to have on board our planes.

TRS, I'm anxious to see what you picked up and your opinion after having those for a few months. I was looking at one of those compact bicycles to put in the back of my airplane, bu tI may hold tight depending on your review.

Hope they don't have cheap Lithium batteries that burst into flames like a lot of the hover boards from across the pond. That could make for a bad day in the back of the airplane

TRS... those look very nice and compact, especially if you're carrying two of them. Thank you for posting the pics!

Notice I had to fold the back seat forward. The Scooters won't slide under the seat, and are too long to fit across.
I bungy'd them to hold in place.

I don't want to be a "debbie downer" but this happened yesterday in our town. It was a electric skate board that caught fire and caused 20K in damages to a dorm room.

Didn't they outlaw some of these from commercial flights? Just a bit of concern is all.

Scooter Report

They have been great. Used 13 times - most runs were like 1.3 miles x 2 for 2.6 total.
Pizza Huts, Bob Evans, etc. Use Google Earth to find. Airports were 20 to 30 miles away.
The screen has 3 green, 1 yellow, & 1 red light. After 2.6 miles we had 2 green left.
Usually operated at speed #2 (9 mph). Sometimes #1 (3 mph) if xtra rough pavement
or caution at stops.

Bought Velcro-on rear-view mirrors.

Longest trip was from South Haven, MI, KLWA over to the beach on Lake Michigan,
which was 3.2 miles x 2 = 6.4 total - had yellow and sometimes red-only at the end,
and finally yellow when we ended. Cold trip, took the scooters home for the winter.
Will go back to 3 regular on-field restaurants for the winter, 45 min to 1 hr away,
although we also thought about using Uber.

Changed placement in plane to front of back seat using seat-belts.
(Was tired of hitting my head on the baggage door opening.)
Put half of small floor mat under each front wheel to save carpet, and folded towels
under tube at seat top and front. Bath rugs would probably be better.

Your photos look to be of very familiar places, I am @ 05C with the MiTiarra Mexican restaurant in the terminal building.

Fly to RCR frequently but stick to the close by eateries.

Rode the "Lime" rental scooters around the IUPUI campus in INDY... they went over 15 mph on flat ground!! Seemed to have excellent range too. A folding type frame would be ideal...

Would be an excellent mode of local transport in good weather.

I'm thinking fly into EYE and scooter over to the Indy 500...did it on bikes...go right past the miles of cars in traffic lines!

Didn't know 05C Griffith-Merrillville has a restaurant.

64 miles from us at Elkhart.

We added it to our list.
