Guys, good morning. On February 10 I will be 72, and I hope to continue to work and flying for a long time.
I would like to know how old are the 172 members that continue to fly, are some of you guys much older than me?

A friend of mine was forced when turning 90 by his doctor to only continue flying with safety pilot. Discussion was closed by my friend paying for the pilot license of his doc. They spent reasonable years together in cockpit and when the Grim Reaper finally realized he had forgotten my friend, the doc inherited the 2-mot. So, if you are healthy, continue as long as it gets safely.

Just recently turned 64. Dad still had great stick and rudder skills at age 89. Last takeoff was two months before his passing at age 90.

I had a friend who made an emergency landing on a city street after going over one power line and then under another line. He was 95 at the time.

Just retired, turning 60 soon. I bought a 172 because it should serve my wife and I faithfully for another 20-25 years.

Semi-retired (whatever that means) at 67...been flying 22 yrs.

Just finished converting my beloved 172H w/a 600 hr. 0-360...hope to fly it about 100 hrs. a year til TBO and beyond.

That'd put me at around 80...I think I'd be happy to have flown that long!!

Turning 65 this month and got back into flying in 2019 after a 30 year hiatus. I'm flying around 75 hours a year which will give me maybe 8 years until TBO on the engine of my 172D...if the engine stays healthy. It will also need a paint job by then for sure.

Just turned 65 (got my Medicare card!); been flying since I was 30. 2K hours, Commercial and CFI-IA ratings (current including IFR), owned a bunch of planes along the way...with basic med, hope to fly until I can't anymore.

Bryan I am 72 and just had a knee replacement surgery. 15 days with no flying. I will despite of all things, take my beautiful 172L for a flight, regardless of doctors advice
