It is my home town on 4th of July 2021. It is under CVG bravo and in LUK delta. Usually not a problem getting a transistion approved to fly through the delta just as long there is no TFRs over the sports stadiums.

I flew twice yesterday, 2.4 in the early morning and 1.5 late last night. Both flights were smooth before and after the hot bumpy day.

This was at about 8 pm, couple hours later 2 teenagers shot each other to death in that park along the river in this picture. They also wounded 2 other people caught in the cross fire. 16-19 years old both carrying hand guns. I didn't even own a hand gun when I was that young. SAD

Then right in front of me that I didn't take pictures of was a bunch of tall radio and TV antennas and tight air space with me squeezing under the bravo.

looks like fun and exciting flying...In Chicago teens and twenty yr olds. are shooting each other to death every day...meanwhile the state and city gun controls are the most intense in the nation... Law enforcement is ineffective and people control is nonexistent... the highly paid Chief City Attorney/prosecutor looks the other way when young black felons commit the overwhelming majority of crimes with guns. Just the facts...facts are non-racist , non-gender prejudiced... just the facts. SAD? To say the least!

I lived downtown Chicago for many years. Just stay out of the South Side.

I was disappointed when Meigs Field shut down. Kept a plane there for a number of years and glad I got it out prior to the sneak attack that shut it down and stranded some planes.

What do you mean stranded planes? Did they close the runway making it impossible to take off?

Ok I read up on that deal, wow. sucks

Dick Daley lived up to his name and family heritage as the rulers of Chicago...at the time

he said he did it to thwart terrorists who would use the airport to destroy downtown

towers!!! Duh! Really? I guess being a dumbas* has become a prerequisite for a

leader of millions of Americans! LOL!!

Sorry I gotta laugh...it'd be endless sadness otherwise!

A somewhat deranged and dangerous douche at that!! What other politician tears up a major GA airport, digging huge trenches across an open and active runway with heavy equipment in the middle of the night...NO NOTAMS, NO WARNING !! Imagine a Citation X
full of passengers making a return home landing late at night totally unaware of what the idiot had done to the runway!!
Like I said, I think, deranged and dangerously intoxicated by his power!!

It was successful for his group. No one seemed to care and no repercussions. Look at Santa Monica CA KSMO, it will be closed in 7 years. Politian's do not like airports, that is what the next generation will find as they will close a lot more. KSMO

Nice photos Challenger!

Yep, woke up one morning to find that the runway had been torn up over the evening with a number of planes still there. There is a small airport in central NJ, where there are still a few airplanes stranded. I guess the owners did not think they were work the expense to remove. We have a push on to close KHTO (East Hampton New York) airport. I do not think that they would try to shut it down at night without a lot of warning, especially now that there is a real fight going on about it, but if it happens when the FAA Assurances expire in September, my Hanger is going to become a very expensive storage shed.

Twin Pines I think is what you're talking about. Lawrenceville and Hopewell (rich towns full of starter castles and impressed with their riches) just needed MORE soccer fields for their entitled youth, so conspired to raise the owner's taxes in one year from 5K a year to over 50K to force him to sell so they could take it over. They ended up paying over $2Mil to get the deed and turn it into playing fields.

I had my plane there for a while to do a field overhaul on the engine. Got out on the last day the field was open.

That might be it. It was quite a while ago since I was there, but there was at least 4 or 5 Cessna 150s sitting in the weeds.
